Mike DeBottis was elected five times to serve Oneida as a Madison County Supervisor. During his decade as a County Supervisor, Mike’s recognized leadership and consensus building skills propelled his appointment to Chairman or Vice-chairman of critical County government committees. As Oneida’s City Attorney, Mike was counsel to the Mayor, Common Council, and all City department heads, was responsible for City litigations and the majority of Oneida’s legal matters. Oneida’s Republican and Democratic mayors have appointed Mike to serve on the City’s Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee, Economic Development & Planning Committee, and Downtown Improvement Committee, among others.

Recognizing the community need for teens to have safe activities in our community, Mike DeBottis spearheaded and chaperoned Teen Dances held at the Kallet Civic Center in the 1980's - 90's. In the 2000's - 2016, Mike coached Little League baseball, St. Pat’s basketball and AYSO soccer; helped build a dozen sets for OHS and OSMS musicals and plays; and his law firm sponsored Little League Baseball teams, OHS Musicals and scholarship programs. Over the course of nearly twenty years, Mike was a mentor for Oneida City School District 6th Grade Conference, and was a career day presenter at Oneida Middle and High School. Mike served as the advisor to an OHS service club to foster students’ interest in community service.
